3 Books That Hollywood SHOULD Make Into Movies!

Some of today’s top movies are those that are adapted from books, so I’ve decided to put my opinion on the line here and pitch three books that should definitely be made into movies -- Take note, Hollywood!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
WHAT IS IT?
The Night Circus is the debut novel from Erin Morgenstern and is a #1 national best-seller. It takes place in London and the U.S. in the late-1800s/early-1900s and chronicles the lives of two young magicians, Marco and Celia, who have been rigorously trained for a fierce competition in the circus since childhood. However, the mysterious and sometimes supernatural powers that Marco and Celia both possess and battle each other with leaves room for only one person left standing. The two fall into a deep love and, regardless of their passionate feelings for each other, have to ensue in a magical battle where the fates of everyone involved hang in balance.
A MOVIE?! WHY?
There is something for everyone in this work of fiction; it’s a period piece, has action, a love story, drama, and creepy magic/circus elements. Just think about the potential of mind-blowing visual effects, amazing sets, and British accents!

Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
WHAT IS IT?
From the same authors of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, this charming novel is told from both the perspectives of the two main characters, Dash and Lily. Dash is perusing an old bookstore around Christmas in New York and finds a notebook full of challenges and dares left by Lily. The two pass the notebook back and forth at various locations around the NYC area and divulge their deepest secrets, hopes, dreams, and fears to each other without ever meeting. Will their in-person selves connect as well as their in-notebook selves? It could just be a comedic disaster that audiences will fall in love with!
A MOVIE?! WHY?
Didn’t you all see Nick & Norah? Didn’t you all fall in love with their quirky personas and root for them the entire movie (or if you’re like me, root for them in the book then the movie)? You can expect the same quirky, charming love story with Dash and Lily.

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
WHAT IS IT?
Hush, Hush is the first book in a four-part series about a fallen angel, Patch, and a high school sophomore, Nora, who falls for his good looks, charm, and inexplicable awareness of her thoughts. At first, Nora is unbeknownst to what – and who – he really is; however, she eventually learns the truth and is caught in the middle of dangerous situations and unexplainable events.
A MOVIE?! WHY?
This series just screams blockbuster movie franchise. With a twist on the whole forbidden-love-with-a-creature-of-the-supernatural element (read: not a vampire or a werewolf), teens and even women of all ages (remember the Twi-hard moms?) will flock to the theatres to see this steamy and tension-filled love story unfold.

And while we do love film and the movie industry in its entirety, coming from one of the biggest bookworms on the planet, it’s always the best bet to READ THE BOOK FIRST!
