Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman, Sgt. Kim Montes, says, "The Florida Highway Patrol has received information that Tiger Woods and his wife were not available to be interviewed by state troopers as we had previously scheduled. This announcement came from his agent. It is unusual that we haven't gotten a statement. This just delays us to getting closer to the completion of the investigation. We still are going to move forward with our crash investigation."

The news comes amid reports the star was arguing with his wife, Elin Nordegren, shortly before the crash. The couple's relationship has recently been rocked by allegations of an affair between the golfer and a woman named as Rachel Uchitel.

She has subsequently denied claims of a relationship with Woods, telling the New York Post, "We have never had an affair, and the claims we did are completely false. I am really upset about it because I am being portrayed as a homewrecker, when it simply isn't true."
