Rapper will.i.am was left fuming on Tuesday (07Oct14) after airline officials gave away his seat on a flight from New York to China because he was running late for check-in.
The Black Eyed Peas star had been booked on a United Airlines plane, but when he arrived at the airport just 45 minutes before take off, he discovered his reservation was no more.
He hit out at customer service representatives via a series of angry posts on Twitter.com and insisted he would avoid flying with United in the future.
In a warning to fans, he wrote, "Make sure when you fly to china via @united you get to the airport 1day (sic) before because they'll give your seats away...
"I fly (rival international airlines) @BA @quantas @koreanAIR @singaporeAIR & they wait for premium passengers to arrive...they don't give away your seat like @united...
"Plane leave (sic) at 1:15 I got to the airport at 12:30...@united is the worse (sic)..."
United Airline representatives advise travelers to check in at the airport at least an hour before their scheduled departure time.
