Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am has finally spoken out to deny persistent rumours he's dating British beauty Cheryl Cole, insisting it's merely internet gossip.

The rapper was linked to the Girls Aloud singer when she supported the Boom Boom Pow hitmakers on tour earlier this year (10) following the breakdown of her marriage to England soccer ace Ashley Cole.

Cole, who also worked with will.i.am on tracks for her debut solo album last year (09), denied any romance between the two, describing the star as "more like a brother".

But the rumours refused to go away - and will.i.am has now finally addressed the gossip, insisting it's only online bloggers who believe he's dating Cole.

He tells Q magazine, "Man, no one outside the internet assumes that (is true). On the internet we are married with children. In real life people know we are occasional work colleagues. But Cheryl is awesome. That accent I would die for... You guys in the media shouldn't give her so much s**t. She's your royalty, man."
