Widow of driver in Paul Walker's car crash sues Porsche bosses

The widow of Roger Rodas, who died with business partner Paul Walker in a fiery crash last year (13), is suing car giant Porsche over claims a car's faulty mechanics were to blame for the pair's tragic death.

Rodas was behind the wheel of the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT when it slammed into a light pole and burst into flames, instantly killing him and Walker.

On Monday (12May14), Rodas' wife, Kristine, filed documents in L.A. County Superior court claiming the vehicle had a faulty part in the suspension which caused the car to veer out of control.

In the papers, obtained by TMZ.com, she alleges the vehicle lacked a proper "crash cage" and a "racing fuel cell", a common part in race cars which prevents the fuel from igniting upon impact.

Kristine also claims bosses of the luxury vehicle company ignored past crashes in similar Carrera GT models which also resulted in deaths and never warned their customers about the reported dangers.

She has hired Hollywood attorney Mark Geragos to take on the lawsuit for negligence, wrongful death and product liability.

In March (14), Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department experts and officials at California Highway Patrol officials investigating the car crash ruled the accident was caused by high speed, not mechanical failure, since Rodas was driving between 81 and 94 miles-per-hour in a 45 miles-per-hour zone when he lost control of the sports car.
