Vin Diesel is afraid of riding roller coasters

Vin Diesel has a fear of riding roller coasters.

The actor has built his career on his willingness to perform dangerous stunts, especially in his role as street racer Dominic Toretto in The Fast and the Furious film series and as rebellious thrill seeker Xander Cage in the xXx franchise.

In spite of his status as one of Hollywood's top action stars, Diesel shared during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday (03Apr17), that he is fearful of riding roller coasters.

"I'm not a real roller coaster kind of guy," he said during the show, which was held at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando to celebrate the opening of Fallon's new ride, Race Through New York.

In fact, Diesel told host Fallon that he would be willing to try just about stunt imaginable than be forced to whizz around on an amusement ride at a theme park.

"I do stunts for a living, (but) I just don't do roller coasters," he admitted. "I would rather ride a GSX-R (motorbike) with a loose screw, maybe 170 miles an hour down the turnpike without a helmet, than get on a roller coaster."

Diesel is currently promoting his new film The Fate of the Furious, also known as Fast & Furious 8, the next installment in the long-running series.

The 49-year-old actor shares that the movie features a number of difficult sequences, including a scene in which he drives a car that is on fire, and explains that he did feel some pressure to continue to top the stunts from previous films.

"I've got to say it's because we have the best fans in the world," he smiled. "They encourage us to continue and we're just so fortunate, we're so blessed."
