Vin Diesel hints at Fast & Furious spin-offs

Vin Diesel is hoping to expand his blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise with a series of spin-offs and prequels.

The actor and director F. Gary Gray are currently working on the eighth installment in the high-octane action franchise, but Diesel tells Variety.com he has already set his sights set on Fast & Furious roles beyond the latest movie.

"We've written out story lines for various characters," Diesel revealed. "We've been playing with it for a long time. It's a very rich property and we're committed to treating it with a lot of class."

"We're certainly in conversations about how we can expand the franchise now," Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley added. "It's an ensemble cast and there's room to bring characters in and out."

In addition to Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson and Ludacris are among the other stars in the hit franchise.
