Victoria Beckham works hard to set example for kids
Victoria Beckham continues to work despite her wealth because she wants to set a good example for her kids.
The former singer-turned-fashion designer made it big during the 1990s as a member of the Spice Girls, while her soccer star husband, David Beckham, made $3 million alone last year (12) playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy.
But despite the Beckhams' combined fortune, the busy mum of four
insists on working tirelessly to expand her fashion empire because
she wants to be a good role model for her children.
She tells Britain's Elle magazine, "It was never my intention to
prove anybody wrong (by entering fashion). I wanted to prove to
myself that I could do it. All these people (fashion designers),
they've not just been given anything. They've worked hard. And I've
never been given anything either. But I have a good work ethic;
David has an incredible work ethic. I want my kids to have a good
work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard
enough to get it."
The 38 year old also admits she likes having her own career because
it gives her a chance to shine: "When I was on stage with the Spice
Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not
me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think,
'They're here to take David's picture.'"
