Vanilla Ice hosting block party for Sandy relief

Written by . Published: December 13 2012

Vanilla Ice is turning his annual Christmas block party into a fundraiser to aid the ongoing Sandy relief efforts.

The Ice Ice Baby hitmaker is inviting friends and fans to join him in Palm Beach, Florida for his seventh annual holiday bash, and he's asking guests to make contributions for victims of the natural disaster, which devastated the East Coast when it struck in late October (12).

In a post on Twitter.com, he writes, "The Vanilla Ice holiday block party will be taking donations for hurricane Sandy victims through Salvation Army, thanks for your support."

Vanilla Ice is also doing his part for needy local kids by organising a toy drive at the get-together on Saturday (15Dec12).

He adds, "The block party will also be supporting (children's charity) Toys For Tots. Bring a toy for the unfortunate kids, and enjoy a magical night. It is true that less fortunate kids can still have a wonderful holiday season, with love, family and friends. But toys will bring smiles."
