Vanessa Hudgens was 'fed up' over ex Zac Efron's heartthrob status

Actress Vanessa Hudgens has opened up about her longtime relationship with Zac Efron, confessing she got to a point where she was "fed up" with her ex-boyfriend's heartthrob status.

The High School Musical stars took their on-screen relationship off-screen, and dated for five years before splitting in 2010.

And as they rose to an unexpected level of fame together, Hudgens admits she started to hate her boyfriend's female fans, who were extremely eager to meet her hunky beau.

She tells the New York Times, "I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up. Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares. Then I realized that's not what that's about - 'Spread the love, be a good person, they support you, be nice'.'"

Hudgens has since found love with actor Austin Butler, while Efron is currently dating model Sami Miro.
