Rapper Trinidad James has been dropped by bosses at Def Jam Recordings.
The hip-hop star, real name Nicholas Williams, was signed to the iconic label in 2012 by fellow rapper Sha Money XL for a reported $2 million, and his debut single All Gold Everything performed well in the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B/Hip-Hop charts in the same year.
However, on Saturday (02Aug14) Williams revealed he and the label
had parted ways in a post on Twitter.com.
He writes, "I should tell yall (you all). I got dropped by the
Label. My Album is now free. If u (sic) hear ur (your) beat or
verse on it. I hope u want dap (fist bump) cuz i got no money
(sic)."
Williams gave no explanation as to why the label has dropped
him.
