Actress Tiffany Thornton is in mourning after learning her husband, singer and TV personality Chris Carney, has lost his life in a car accident in Arkansas.

The former Disney star's spouse of four years died in the early hours of Friday (04Dec15) after the driver of a car he was a passenger in lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree. Both Carney and his pal, driver Ezekiel Blanton, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Carney, 35, had enjoyed his own taste of fame as a castmember of MTV reality show twentyfourseven, while he also served as the former frontman of rock group The Prom Kings.

He and Thornton, who are parents to three-year-old Kenneth and one-year-old Bentley, briefly separated following the birth of their second son last year (14), but they reconciled and recently moved back to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where Carney's mother is the mayor, reports TMZ.com.

Thornton, 29, has yet to comment on the tragedy, her second heartbreaking loss this week (begs30Nov15) - on Thursday (03Dec15), she shared a photo collage of pal Brittany Blanton, who recently passed away.

"I keep thinking this can't be real," she added in a caption. "One of my very best friends is gone and the place she holds in my heart will never be filled. Brittany was one of the coolest people I've ever known, filled with the loudest and most contagious laughter, a huge heart, a beautiful smile and an unbelievable faith in others that not a lot of people have."

Blanton served as one of Thornton's bridesmaids at her 2011 wedding, alongside her Sonny with a Chance co-star Demi Lovato.

The Cool for the Summer singer appeared to express her shock at the double dose of sad news via Twitter on Friday, simply tweeting, "This isn't real". She has yet to elaborate on the message.
