Third time lucky for Amy Adams with Lois Lane casting

Written by . Published: June 05 2013

Amy Adams was third time lucky scoring a lead in the new Superman movie as she unsuccessfully auditioned for the role of Lois Lane twice before finally landing the part of Clark Kent's love interest in the upcoming release.

The Doubt star will soon be seen onscreen in Man of Steel opposite Henry Cavill, and she admits playing the intrepid reporter was a dream come true after failing to win over previous directors with her talents.

She explains, "The first time there was a version that never got made with Matt Bomer, who's amazing... and then there was the (director) Bryan Singer version (Superman Returns); I auditioned for that one and I didn't get cast... and then, this one, I auditioned and I got cast.

"You'd think I would have learned... but I have enough Lois in me that I was like, 'I'm gonna keep trying...' I would have been, like, 75 and still auditioning."

The role of Lois Lane in 2006's Superman Returns went to Kate Bosworth, who acted opposite Brandon Routh in the title role.

Man of Steel is released later this month (Jun13).
