The Weeknd is joining forces with H&M on a curated menswear collection.

As well as starring in the Swedish retailer’s Spring 17 campaign, he’ll also handpick new pieces for the collection, developed with his own XO label.

The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, announced the news on his social media pages, posting: “Excited to announce that I’m starring in the @HM and XO campaign launching March 2017 #HMSPRINGICONS.”

He added an image of himself wearing a black XO bomber jacket.

Fans quickly congratulated him, with many expressing their excitement at the coming collection.

The Can’t Feel my Face singer launched his XO branded clothes in 2014, and regularly brings out new season styles.

His foray into fashion caught the eye of Alexander Wang, and the pair collaborated on a capsule collection last year (15). WANGXO was made up of a hoodie, T-shirts, bandana and high-top sneaker, all in a monochrome color palette.

The Weeknd has also recently worked with sportswear giant Puma, joining the company as a brand ambassador and collaborator. His Run the Streets campaign drops this month (Nov16), while his Puma sneakers and apparel will hit shelves in 2017.

And adding even more weight to his fashion credentials, the 26-year-old star, who dates model Bella Hadid, is setting up tour merchandising pop-up stores this weekend (4-6Nov16), ahead of the release of his new album Starboy. No other details have yet been released.

Starboy, The Weeknd’s third album, will be available from 25 November, with the singer heading out on his Starboy: Legend of the Fall 2017 World Tour in the new year.
