The Wanted 'arrested' for Punk'd

The Wanted were given a fright in Los Angeles recently when they were "arrested" during a video shoot as part of a TV prank.

The British boyband, currently riding high in the charts with Glad You Came, were in L.A. to film their latest promo when the shoot was interrupted by a cop, who detained them on suspicion of trespassing.

Bandmember Jay McGuiness was placed in handcuffs and taken away by the officer, while his visibly upset friends waited nervously to hear their fate.

However, the boys later found out the "arrest" was all part of a prank for the new series of hit TV show Punk'd, formerly hosted by actor Ashton Kutcher.

The ninth season of Punk'd returns to TV screens later this month (Mar12).
