Taylor Swift thrilled to be part of her first royal engagement

Taylor Swift came face to face with a real fairytale prince on Tuesday (26Nov13) after dashing to London following her four-trophy win at the American Music Awards on Sunday night (24Nov13) for a meeting with Prince William.

The Love Story hitmaker was among the celebrity guests at the Winter Whites Gala in Aid of Centrepoint at Kensington Palace, where the British royal made a point of stopping to chat with her and compliment the singer on her stunning crystal gown.

Swift told reporters she was thrilled to be a part of the evening - her first royal engagement - and stunned by the gala's winter wonderland theme, which included imported snow.

She said, "It is so incredibly exciting to be performing at Kensington Palace. With the snow, the lighting, the decorations, it's all so Christmas-y. It's kind of surreal, right? I'm at a palace!

"I'm just soaking it all in. It's going to be a great night."

And after her meeting with the Prince, the giddy country star gushed, "He's so funny!"

Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, Oscar winner Colin Firth and James Blunt also attended the royal bash, and Jon Bon Jovi, who was photographed posing with Swift on the blue carpet, was presented with the Centrepoint Great Britain Youth Inspiration Award for his humanitarian work.
