Taylor Swift launching mobile app

Taylor Swift has become the latest star to develop her own mobile app.

The Swift Life will include exclusive content and social-media features for Swift's fans. The Glu Mobile app will be released "in limited territories" by the end of the year (17).

The app was announced last year (16), but it was originally slated to be nothing more than a mobile game.

"I think you guys are really going to like this," Swift says in a video. "I mean, I hope. It would be... preferable if you did."

"We've worked closely with Taylor and her team to bring her creative vision to life," a statement from Glu Mobile president and CEO Nick Earl reads. "The result is a deeply social environment where Taylor and her fans are able to better connect with one another while expressing themselves in an interactive community. We look forward to its worldwide launch later this year."

With her new venture, Taylor joins Kim Kardashian and longtime rival Katy Perry, who have mobile games under the Glu banner.
