Kingsman star Taron Egerton wants to be considered as the next James Bond.

The young star, who plays unlikely spy Eggsy in the action film franchise, joined his Kingsman: The Golden Circle castmates at the London premiere of the sequel on Monday (18Sep17) and told reporters he's very interested in taking over from Daniel Craig when he steps away from 007.

"Bond is eternally super-cool and clean cut and sharp," the actor said. "Eggsy is too, but Eggsy doesn’t always get it right and I think that’s the fun of Eggsy - he’s not quite formed yet. Maybe one day he’ll be James Bond, but for now, he isn't."

Asked if he would like to be considered for the role of Bond, he added, "If I was asked, yeah... Amazing."

Craig recently announced he's be returning for at least one more Bond movie. Prior to his big reveal, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba were among the fan favorites to take over as 007.
