The alleged mastermind behind Hollywood's notorious 'Bling Ring' gang will serve two years behind bars as part of a plea deal for breaking into the homes of actress Lindsay Lohan and reality star Audrina Patridge.

Nicholas Prugo, one of the key members of the so-called Bling Ring, has confessed to stealing designer clothing, jewelry and cash from properties owned by Lohan, Patridge, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson and Orlando Bloom.

He was charged with seven counts of residential burglary relating to the crimes, but on Friday (02Mar12), three of those charges were dropped after agreeing to plead no contest to stealing from Lohan and Patridge.

Under the terms of the deal, the 21 year old must also testify against three other people suspected of helping him burgle the celebrity homes, according to the Associated Press.

Prugo will be sentenced on 4 May (12) and is expected to be handed two years in a California state prison.
