Suspect arrested over Paul Walker wreckage theft

Police in California have arrested a man on suspicion of stealing wreckage from the site of the car crash which killed actor Paul Walker.

The Fast and the Furious star died in Santa Clarita, California on Saturday (30Nov13) when the sports car he was riding in crashed and burst into flames. The actor died along with the driver, his friend Roger Rodas.

Cops have now arrested a man on suspicion of stealing part of the Porsche as it was being removed from the scene of the accident.

Jameson Witty, 18, was detained by cops on Thursday (05Dec13) over accusations he swiped a piece of the wreckage while it was being taken away on a tow-truck in the hours after the crash. His bail was set at $20,000 .

A second suspect, aged 25, is expected to surrender to police in the coming days.

The pair is accused of theft and tampering with evidence.
