Sugarland to perform memorial concert

Written by . Published: October 08 2011

Sugarland will return to Indiana this month (Oct11) to play a free concert in honor of those tragically killed during a stage collapse there in August (11).

Six concert-goers were killed and dozens of others injured when a stage collapsed ahead of Sugarland's performance at the Indiana State Fair on 13 August (11).

The country group has now decided to head back to the state to sing at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on 28 October (11) and collect donations for the families affected by the horrific accident. The event will be ticketed, but priority will be given to all former State Fair stub holders before tickets are offered to the general public.

Making the official announcement on Twitter.com on Friday (07Oct11), the bandmembers write, "We will return to Indiana for a free concert at Conseco Fieldhouse on Oct. 28th. LOVE."
