Storm keeps Kristen Bell from fan event

Actress Kristen Bell was forced to pull out of a virtual event for her new movie The Lifeguard on Friday (30Aug13) after a bad storm caused power outages.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was set to appear via Skype at a question-and-answer session for fans attending a screening at the Sundance Sunset Cinema in Hollywood, but she was unable to get online due to heavy rains in her native Detroit, Michigan.

The new mom, who gave birth to her daughter Lincoln in March (13), also blamed exhaustion for keeping her from participating.

Bell took to her Twitter.com page to apologize for the cancellation, writing, "To those viewing The Lifeguard at sundance sunset cinemas with (director) Liz W. Garcia: due to storm power outages, intense sleepiness & a tiny baby in bed... I sincerely regret not making it to our scheduled Q&A. The storm is subsiding, but I won't be coherent to answer any questions.

"Please tweet any you have to me & I'll be happy to answer in the daylight hours provided Detroit isn't underwater by morning. G'night ya knuckleheads."
