Pete Wentz, Donnie Wahlberg and Bella Thorne are among the stars who have been caught up in the chaos as heavy snow hit the East Coast.

Thousands of flights have been cancelled due to bad weather after a massive snowstorm struck in areas including New York City, where Fall Out Boy star Wentz was left stuck on Tuesday (21Jan14) following a trip to the Big Apple.

The rocker tweeted, "Stranded in NYC bout to reenact Home Alone 2 tonight," while actress Thorne also revealed she endured a nightmare journey back to California before adding, "Finally made it back to LA....snow storms."

Hollywood director Wes Craven found himself stranded in Greenwich, Connecticut, but told fans he was enjoying spending time in the picturesque location, writing in a post on Instagram.com, "View from inn breakfast sunroom. If you're going to be stranded, what better place than Greenwich CT? Actually we shot around here for (2010 horror movie) My Soul to Take."

Wahlberg was struggling to work during heavy snow in the Big Apple on Wednesday (22Jan14), and told his Twitter.com followers the shoot for his TV show Blue Bloods had to be moved indoors because of the bad weather.

He also admitted the change would force him to miss the premiere party for his new reality TV show Wahlburgers on Wednesday night, writing, "Snow storm forced Blue Bloods shoot indoors today, which means I have to work in NYC! Hope everyone has fun at Wahlburgers without me... Snowed in, and have to work."
