Solange Knowles weds

Singer Solange Knowles has wed music video director Alan Fergson in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The couple tied the knot in front of family and friends, including sister Beyonce, brother-in-law Jay Z and niece Blue Ivy Carter, who all wore white, at a church in the city on Sunday (16Nov14).

The new Mrs. Ferguson took to Instangram.com after the wedding ceremony and wrote, "Today couldn't have been more perfect. I couldn't have smiled harder."

She then thanked fans for "all of your lovely and wonderful wishes", adding, "They warmed my heart and I simply feel grateful for all of the love."

Before the ceremony, the couple was photographed riding bikes through the streets, wearing white pant suits.

Solange, her sister and Ferguson kicked off the festivities in the city on Friday (14Nov14) at the Indywood Cinema, where the bride-to-be and her fiance screened a short film about their romance followed by 1970s movie Mahogany, which the couple watched on its first date.

This is the second marriage for Knowles, who was previously married to Daniel Smith, the father of her 10-year-old son Daniel Julez, Jr.
