Solange Knowles axed Osheaga Festival after 'production issues'

Solange Knowles had to cancel her set at Canada's Osheaga Festival on Saturday (05Aug17) after encountering "unforeseen production issues".

The Cranes in the Sky hitmaker has been staging elaborate performance art pieces to promote her latest album, A Seat at the Table, but fans eager to catch her show at the Montreal bash this weekend (05-06Aug17) were left disappointed when she dropped out of the line-up on short notice.

"It is with regret that OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival has to announce that Solange will not be performing this weekend at the festival, due to unforeseen production issues out of her and the festival’s control," read a statement issued by event officials.

"Solange would like to take this time to send her deepest apologies for the inconvenience and hopes to see her Montreal fans real soon."

It's not clear what exactly caused the scrapped performance, but it's the same reason Solange had to axe her appearance at May's (17) Boston Calling festival.

The singer, who was honored at the Black Girls Rock Awards in New Jersey on Saturday, has yet to directly address the Osheaga cancellation.

The news emerged days after Beyonce's little sister lived out her teenage dreams on Wednesday (02Aug17) as she joined rockers Incubus onstage to sing Aqueous Transmission in her home town of New Orleans, Louisiana.

"aqueous transmission forever @IncubusBand," she captioned a photo of herself backstage with guitarist and band co-founder Michael Einziger after the gig.

Earlier this year (17), Solange shared her secret love for the group and her childhood crush on its frontman Brandon Boyd in a "letter to her teenage self" for Teen Vogue.
