Snoop Dogg eyeing soccer club investment

Snoop Dogg is eyeing another move into the sports industry - he wants to invest in a Scottish soccer club.

The Drop It Like It's Hot hitmaker is a huge soccer fan and supports Glasgow club Celtic, which includes Rod Stewart among its most fervent fans.

The hip hop star, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., reveals that he wants a seat on the board and is keen to be involved in the running of the club.

He tells British newspaper the Sunday Mail, "I got a lot of interest in soccer. It's not a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in sports teams but it is a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in soccer teams...

"I see how passionate Celtic fans are about their team and I could see myself making an investment if any of the board wanted to sell. I haven't really thought how much. I don't need to run a soccer club but (I'd like) enough of a percentage to get me on the board, so I can be heard. I want to bring a bit of Snoop to things."

It won't be Snoop's first foray into sports - he also runs a popular youth football league in his native California.
