Skrillex's birthday party shut down due to overcrowding

Skrillex's birthday party in Los Angeles was shut down by fire marshals after the venue became overcrowded.

The DJ turned 27 on Thursday (15Jan15) and he celebrated by hosting a bash at L.A. venue the Million Dollar Theatre for around 500 guests including his ex-girlfriend, British singer Ellie Goulding, as well as actress Tara Reid and fellow dance star Diplo.

However, the party was cut short by officials amid safety fears, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

The publication reports the bash, which featured a puppeteer and a magician, was shut down early by fire marshals because the venue was over capacity.
