Sienna Miller: 'I'm very lucky to have a second chance'

Actress Sienna Miller has opened up about her past mistakes in a candid new magazine interview, insisting she is lucky to still have a Hollywood career.

As ex-boyfriend Jude Law testifies about her alleged affair with Daniel Craig, while they were dating, as part of a trial into the U.K.'s phone-hacking scandal, of which both he and Miller were victims, the Alfie star admits she made life difficult for herself by not "behaving the way you should" in her personal life.

The actress also famously dated Rhys Ifans and Balthazar Getty, who was married with four kids at the time, and tells Britain's Esquire magazine, "I sabotaged things. I burnt a lot of bridges."

She adds, "On set, I was first to arrive, last to leave, best friends with the crew, totally professional, no d**king around. But when I wasn't at work, I wasn't behaving the way you should.

"I'm very lucky to have a second chance in that town... It was really bad. What was going on in my private life was not an easy thing to read about. People don't want to see films with people they don't approve of in them."

Miller also credits her reconciliation with Law after a bitter break-up, amid a cheating scandal, for helping to mend the former couple's relationship and turning them into good friend for life.

She explains, "When something ends in a way like that, it's important if you can, in a way, go back and revisit it and either shut that door or create a new room. So it (reconciliation) was a very healthy, cathartic experience, and I think it paved the way for both of us to have great futures with no animosity or drama.

"(It was) such a huge relief, to heal that. And I'm great friends with him and with his children. I love them, madly. Just huge love and respect for all of them."

Miller has her own family now - she became a mom to daughter Marlowe 18 months ago and is engaged to marry actor Tom Sturridge.

She says, "I feel really settled. I have a wonderful life. I'm up every morning with a little baby. That gives you incredible perspective. It's such a gift. And it's grounding in a way you can't describe.

"(And Tom) is the antithesis of me, really. And that's a first for me, to be in a relationship with someone who's in a lot of respects very different. He's the perfect balance to my lunacy, which makes him sound really boring, but he's not, at all. It's good, it works. It's not easy, of course, but we're a family and I love that. I wake up and I'm like, 'I'm a family, I'm a grown up!' I still can't believe it."
