Singer George Michael has axed the remaining dates on his 2011 tour as he battles pneumonia.
The Faith hitmaker, 48, was hospitalized in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday (23Nov11) and diagnosed with the potentially deadly lung infection.
He scrapped a string of European shows on his Symphonica tour to allow him time to fight the illness, but on Friday (25Nov11), his representative announced that all of Michael's live commitments had been put on hold for the rest of the year.
The spokesperson tells Britain's Sky News, "All U.K. dates have been postponed. He has pneumonia. Any other speculation about his illness is unfounded and untrue. He is receiving excellent medical care and is responding to treatment and is slowly recovering."
The Symphonica tour was due to make stops in the English cities of Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and London, and in Glasgow, Scotland throughout November and December (11). The dates are expected to be rescheduled.
