A statement from his doctor says, "Chris has a severe viral illness. The virus has developed into a nasty chest infection and he needs rest. He is not fit to perform on stage nor is he fit to travel."

Chris Brown explained to fans at a concert in Brisbane on Friday (29Apr11) that he was not feeling well, but fought his way through his performance.

He had assured fans on Sunday (01May11) that he would try his best to make the show, writing in a post on Twitter.com, "I haven't been sick like this in a while!!!! F..k it though! I'm still doing the show in Perth!"
