Shia LaBeouf given plea deal deadline in court
A judge has given Shia Labeouf six weeks to agree a deal with prosecutors over his disorderly conduct case.
The Transformers star appeared in court in New York City on Thursday morning (24Jul14) for a hearing connected to his arrest at a Broadway theatre last month (Jun14).
LaBeouf, 28, who was detained by police for disrupting a production
of Cabaret, has denied charges of disorderly conduct and criminal
trespass, but his lawyer G. Robert Gage is attempting to work out a
plea deal.
During the hearing on Thursday, the judge overseeing the case at
the Manhattan court gave both sides six weeks to agree a resolution
and ordered the star back for another hearing on 10 September
(14).
After the Broadway outburst, LaBeouf enrolled in an outpatient
rehab program to tackle his drinking.
