The new Miss Universe hails from the same home town as Shakira and Sofia Vergara.
Miss Colombia Paulina Vega was crowned Miss Universe last month (Jan15) and she reveals her fellow Barranquilla babes have reached out to congratulate her.
Actress Vergara tweeted "Barranquilla!!! Miss Universe!!!" shortly
after her win a week ago, and new mom Shakira has also expressed
her pride via Social media, posting, "Congratulations to Paulina
Vega. Barranquilla celebrates with you."
Vega, 22, has never met the stars, but admits she's thrilled they
know who she is.
She says, "I'm very happy. I really admire these women. They're
sexy and funny and authentic and secure and they're really great
ambassadors of my country. I'm very proud of them."
