Selena Gomez executive producing TV show

Written by . Published: April 05 2016

Actress/singer Selena Gomez is returning to TV to executive produce a new untitled series.

The Come and Get It star is teaming with her mother, Mandy Teefey, and producer Aaron Kaplan to develop the show about a young woman living in a low-income Latino neighborhood, working to realize her dreams.

Aaron came up with the show's concept after watching an inspiring speech from teenager Ana Cobarrubias, who spoke at The Zimmer Children's Museum Discovery Award Dinner last year (15) about her desire to make a difference in her poverty-stricken Los Angeles hometown. Ana will serve as a consultant on the project.

It is unclear if Selena will appear on the show.

This isn't Selena's first foray into producing - the 23-year-old is also bringing a TV adaptation of Jay Asher's 2007 novel 13 Reasons Why to streaming service Netflix.
