Selena Gomez donating Boston tour ticket money to charity fund
Selena Gomez has pledged to donate $1 (62 pence) from every ticket sold to her upcoming show in Boston, Massachusetts to a charity set up to help locals affected by the marathon bombings.
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino have created The One Fund Boston to assist those affected by the 15 April (13) atrocity, which left three people dead and more than 175 injured, and the singer/actress has offered her support to the cause.
Gomez plans to hand over $1 from every ticket sold for her show at
the city's TD Garden venue on 12 October (13) to the scheme, which
boasted donations of more than $23 million as WENN went to
press.
Neil Diamond has also pledged proceeds from his hit song Sweet
Caroline, which is used as an anthem for local baseball team, the
Boston Red Sox.
