Selena Gomez cancels upcoming Australian tour

Selena Gomez has decided to cancel her upcoming 2014 tour in Australia in order to "spend time on herself".

The Come and Get It hitmaker was scheduled to begin her first trek of the country in February (14), but announced on Thursday (19Dec13) that she had scrapped her dates so she can rest.

A statement from the star reads, "My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.

"To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me.”

Ticketholders are due to receive full refunds for the cancelled shows.
