Scooter Braun plays down Justin Bieber retirement rumours
Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun has played down the pop superstar's talk of retirement, insisting he is simply planning some down time for 2014.
The singer sent fans into a spin on Tuesday (17Dec13) when he told a Los Angeles DJ he was ready to hang up his microphone at the age of 19.
He said, "After the album, um, I'm actually retiring, man. I'm
retiring. I'm going to take some time. I think I'm probably going
to quit music."
However, Braun has assured devotees Bieber isn't turning his back
on the charts for good.
Speaking on news show Access Hollywood Live, Braun explained, "He
talked about how he's taking a year off and just gonna work on
music and how he's really gonna take time for himself, because he
hasn't taken time off since he was 12 and he'll be 20 years old in
March."
Bieber has had a busy 2013 after taking his Believe tour across the
world. However, his behaviour both on and off the stage has also
drawn attention after hitting headlines for everything from showing
up late at concerts, to urinating in restaurant mop buckets and
defacing walls with graffiti.
He is due to release his new concert documentary, Justin Bieber's
Believe, on Christmas Day (25Dec13) and recently insisted
everything about his crazy life in the spotlight would be explained
in the film.
