Scarlett Johansson voices foodie podcast

Scarlett Johansson is lending her voice to a mouthwatering new venture as the narrator of a foodie podcast.

She previously provided the sultry voice of Samantha in cyber-romance Her by filmmaker Spike Jonze. And her new venture could prove similarly mesmerizing.

Scarlett is heard in a new foodie podcast from New York's fine food emporium Dean & DeLuca. Although she isn't officially identified, the actress' dulcet tones were heard by an eagle-eared listener.

She reportedly features in 12 episodes of the Prince Street podcast which is hosted by food journalist Howie Kahn, according to PageSix.com.

“She (Scarlett) reads a teaser monologue for each show and links up the segments,”a source tells PageSix.com.

The 31-year-old actress will also share her food and cooking memories in the podcast which is the brainchild of Charles Finch, vice chairman and a shareholder of Dean & DeLuca, in a bid to “reinvigorate and re-energize” the SoHo foodie institution.

Other celebrity contributors include actor Griffin Dunne, and novelist Jay McInerney.

Keen restaurant goer Scarlett has spoken of her love of food in the past.

In an interview with FoodandWine.com in 2013, Scarlett revealed she's traded vegan muffin recipes with Gwyneth Paltrow, has only seen Woody Allen eat shrimp dumplings and bruschetta, and had high expectations of the food in Spain which proved less than flattering.

"When I was in Spain filming Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I thought I was going to have this amazing culinary experience, but I found everything too salty and porky," she complained.
