Sarah Hyland wins permanent protective order against ex

Sarah Hyland's ex-boyfriend has been banned from contacting the actress for the next three years after a judge granted her request for a permanent restraining order.

The Modern Family star split from Matthew Prokop in May (14) and sought out a protection order last month (Sep14), amid allegations he had terrorized her verbally and physically during the last four years of their relationship.

She obtained a temporary ban against him in late September (14) after revealing he had threatened to harm her dog and set one of her homes on fire, and on Monday (06Oct14), a California judge ordered Prokop to stay at least 100 yards (91.4 meters) away from the 23 year old, her house and her place of work until 2017.

The restraining order extends to Hyland's pet pooch Barkley Bixby, while Prokop must also refrain from possessing a firearm or ammunition, according to TMZ.com.
