Sandra Bullock's alleged stalker to stand trial in July
A man charged with stalking Sandra Bullock and breaking into her Los Angeles home last year (14) will stand trial for the charges in July (15).
Joshua Corbett was arrested in June (14) and hit with felony counts of residential burglary, stalking and possession of a machine gun after he was found trespassing on the Oscar winner's property.
Last month (Apr15), a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered the
39 year old to stand trial after hearing testimony from the
arresting officers and listening to Bullock's panicked 911 call, in
which the Gravity star was heard telling the dispatcher, "I'm in my
closet. I have a safe door. I'm locked in the closet right
now."
Corbett, who has been undergoing mental health evaluations while in
custody, returned to court on Wednesday (06May15) to officially
plead not guilty, and the judge set a tentative trial date of 6
July (15).
The suspect was not armed when he was arrested, but a subsequent
search of his home uncovered an arsenal of unregistered
weapons.
