U.S. TV host Ryan Seacrest has denied a former co-worker's allegations of inappropriate behavior, but has apologized if he made her feel uncomfortable.

A stylist who worked with the 42-year-old at E! News network has made a complaint against the star.

Details of the incident are unknown, but a spokesperson for E! News has confirmed to Variety that network bosses are investigating the alleged incident.

In a statement to the magazine the star denied the allegations, but still offered an apology to his accuser.

"Recently, someone that worked as a wardrobe stylist for me nearly a decade ago at E! News, came forward with a complaint suggesting I behaved inappropriately toward her, the statement reads. "If I made her feel anything but respected, I am truly sorry. I dispute these reckless allegations and I plan to cooperate with any corporate inquiries that may result. I treat all my colleagues with kindness, dignity, and understanding, as this is a principle that's core to who I am."

Seacrest is the latest star to be accused of inappropriate behavior, since an explosive New York Times report publicized sexual assault allegations against the movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

In his statement, the American Idol host went on to stress that he tried to ensure women felt comfortable in the workplace.

"Throughout my 25 years in the entertainment industry, the majority of my co-workers have been women, and I've endeavored to foster a positive work environment of mutual respect and courtesy, as that's how I believe it should be," he wrote. "I'm distraught that anyone or any situation would call that into question. I'm proud of my workplace reputation, and believe my track record will speak for itself. I'm an advocate for women. I will continue to support their voices."

Kevin Spacey, the director Brett Ratner and the comedian Louis C.K. are among the stars accused of sexual misconduct.
