Ryan Murphy: 'We'll keep mentioning Monteith's character on Glee'

Glee creator Ryan Murphy has assured fans of the show and tragic star Cory Monteith the actor's character will live on in the script for the TV series.

Monteith's character Finn Hudson was killed off during a tribute episode, which aired on Thursday night (10Oct13), but Murphy insists the American football player-turned Glee club talent will not be forgotten.

Murphy, who oversaw the emotional ratings-busting tribute episode, says, "I just made a decision: we keep mentioning Finn. We don’t just say this is done and we’re never going back to it. It (Finn’s death) resonates throughout the year."

The TV boss opted to halt production on the show following Monteith's death in July (13) after shooting the tribute episode, and now he's ready to get back to the series, insisting it’s what his late leading man would have wanted.

He adds, "We’re trying to be sensitive and also have some fun with it, to go back to some optimistic stories. I think he would’ve wanted that. He always loved that about the show.”
