Ryan Lochte is a new dad

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte and his fiancee Kayla Rae Reid welcomed a baby boy early on Thursday morning (08Jun17).

Representatives for the couple confirmed to Us Weekly magazine that Kayla had given birth to a healthy son, but did not disclose the newborn's name.

The gold medalist and his fiancee revealed they were expecting a child in December (16), two months after their engagement.

Announcing her pregnancy, Kayla wrote on Instagram, "Just when you think you have it all figured out, life always surprises you with blessings when (you) least expect it. So excited to share this news with all of you!"

The couple had reportedly been dating for less than a year when they became engaged.
