Catching Up With: "Dr Ken" Star Albert Tsai

The moviemaker reveals, "Ryan has the job of a mover in the movie and instead of casting actors as the movers and renting a truck and basically faking it, I went around to all the local moving companies in the New York area and chose my favourite one, Steinway Moving in Queens.

"I interviewed all the guys there and picked the three best on camera and told the boss, 'Look, you're gonna have this guy Ryan Gosling, and he's gonna come in here in character as Dean, so just give him a job interview and treat him like a regular guy.

"Ryan came in there and, in one take, the guy gave him the job and hired him on this moving company. Ryan went out with these guys for a couple of days and he really moved my director of photography from his six-floor walk-up apartment in the lower East Side.

"At the beginning of the day all these guys were like, 'Who's this movie star?' But by lunch time they were ready to give him a job and keep him!"
