Russell Brand removed wedding ring weeks before divorce

Russell Brand removed his wedding ring in a video message to fans weeks before he filed for divorce from Katy Perry.

In a clip filmed in November (11) and obtained by British magazine Grazia, the funnyman reveals he's preparing for "a week of revolution" during his university tour.

He told viewers he was planning to learn "first-hand" about the saucy antics of female students and is then seen removing his wedding ring and joking that he will hide it "somewhere very, very safe" while he hits the road.

Grazia reports Russell Brand told viewers of the short film, which was posted on a porn website, "I am going to meet people from sororities and fraternities. I don't know what a sorority is except for what I have seen (online) - that they are sort of sex clubs for women. A week of revolution and, more importantly, I am going to learn first-hand about sororities."

Russell Brand is then seen removing the band from his ring finger as he adds, "I'm just going to place this somewhere very, very safe for the next week."

The British star filed for divorce from I Kissed a Girl hitmaker Katy Perry last month (Dec11), just 14 months after they wed in India following a whirlwind romance.
