Ross arrested for drug possession

Rapper Rick Ross was arrested on Friday night (25Mar11) after allegedly smoking marijuana in a Los Angeles hotel room.

Police took the hip-hop star into custody following complaints about the strong smell of weed reportedly wafting from his room at the Hilton hotel in Downtown Shreveport.

According to TMZ.com, officers saw a gram of the drug in plain view. Ross was later released on a misdemeanour summons.

It was a busy night for Shreveport police - footballer Jason Peters was also arrested and charged with loud music and disturbing the peace.
