Robert Pattinson launching a singing career

British actor Robert Pattinson is set to launch a music career.

The star, who can play guitar and piano, used to perform in local pubs in England before finding international fame as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga.

His friend Brady Corbet tells Britain's The Sun that Pattinson always wanted to be a musician and is now working on his debut album.

He says, "He's been busy producing his first album, which will be coming soon."

Pattinson has previously sung on two tracks for the Twilight soundtrack album, which was released in 2008, and has long been rumored to be be considering making a record.
