Rihanna wasn't bubbling with excitement when an American footballer lavished a $10,000 bottle of champagne on her during a night out - she sent it back because she didn't know who he was.

The Umbrella hitmaker was celebrating the end of a traumatic week in which she finally opened up about her beating at the hands of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, by hitting the Las Vegas club scene at the weekend (06/07Nov09).

While later partying at the exclusive nightspot The Bank at Wonderland in Los Angeles, the star received the pricey bubbly from Jets player Braylon Edwards - only to refuse it, according to New York gossip column Page Six.

A source tells the publica tion, "She didn't know who they were, so she sent it back."

But Edwards wasn't left red-faced for long - he introduced himself to the Bajan beauty and they chatted, according to his rep.
