Rev. Run's daughter Vanessa Simmons gives birth to baby girl

Rap icon Rev. Run is a first-time grandfather following the birth of his daughter Vanessa Simmons' baby girl.

The 30 year old and her boyfriend Mike Wayans, who is the son of comedian Damon Wayans, welcomed the little girl on Valentine's Day (14Feb14), according to her uncle Danny Simmons.

In a Facebook.com post, he writes, "My brand spanking new Grand niece is named Ava Marie Jean Waynans (sic)... you go mommy Vanessa..."

Actress Simmons announced her pregnancy in October (13).

She wasn't the only celebrity who became a mum on the most romantic day of the year - Simon Cowell's girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to the couple's first child together in New York.
