Real-life couple Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner to play lovers on Supergirl TV series

Real-life couple Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner are teaming up as lovers on the small screen.

Jenner, who met the actress on the set of Glee and married her earlier this year (15), will play her character's boyfriend in upcoming episodes of her hit new TV show Supergirl.

Benoist plays the titular character in the series and her husband has been cast as Adam Foster, who will appear in several episodes of the comic book superheroine series early next year (16).
