Rapper Azealia Banks arrested - report

Rap star Azealia Banks has reportedly been arrested in New York.

Sources tell Page Six, the 212 hitmaker punched and bit a female security guard during an altercation at the Up&Down club, where Banks was attending a party on Tuesday night (15Dec15).

She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault.

The news comes just two months after the 24 year old allegedly assaulted a security guard at a club in Los Angeles in October (15).

Reports suggest the latest drama began when bouncers at the club failed to recognize Azealia as she arrived at the invite-only party. She managed to get in but was thrown out a short time later after allegedly spitting at a bouncer.

Police arrived at the party and Banks was arrested and taken to the Sixth Precinct police station and held there for evaluation until Wednesday evening (16Dec15).
